Athens Area Humane Society Selected as International Project with Purpose Site

Athens, Georgia (August 11, 2023) – The Athens Area Humane Society (AAHS) has been selected by Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health USA Inc., based in Duluth, to serve as a Project with Purpose site, organized by Manchester-based Team Being. Athens Area Humane Society’s values, mission and purpose aligned with those of Boehringer Ingelheim and its mission of “Transforming Lives for Generations.” As a Project with Purpose site, Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health and AAHS will work together to make the exterior of the building more eye-catching so that passing traffic will be curious about the work happening inside. The event is not open to the public, but the exterior make-over is sure to delight the entire community.

Founded in 2022, Team Being is a Manchester-based team building organization that matches company values with nonprofits needing capital projects to deliver their mission, from concept to completion.

Dr. Cheryl McCormick, CEO of the Athens Area Humane Society, states “The Athens Area Humane Society is a place where the indelible bond between people and pets is celebrated. This sentiment is aligned with the values of Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health and we are delighted that they have selected AAHS as a site where its Animal Health team will work on a public-facing project that expresses the unconditional love and joy that pets bring to our lives. I know that the Athens community is going to love the new artwork and fresh energy that their project will bring to our facility.”

The Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health Project with Purpose, dubbed Petstival, will take place on Tuesday, August 15th, at AAHS’s animal care center, located at 1030 Mitchell Bridge Road. The event will involve more than 50 Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health colleagues. By the conclusion of the event, the exterior of the AAHS building will feature new artwork that symbolizes the human-animal bond.
