Providing Vaccinations to Pets in Need
Promoting pet retention is a critical part of the AAHS mission. To help people provide the best possible homes for their pets, we’re proud to provide pet vaccination assistance to anyone in need. Select Saturdays (quarterly) from 9am – 12pm, we host a Free Vaccine Clinic at our campus located at 1030 Mitchell Bridge Rd. sponsored by caring community partners and foundations. Announcements about clinic dates will be made on our website, emails, and through our social media.

What to know about our free clinics
We are hosting a Free Vaccine Clinic for the public on select Saturdays, usually the 3rd Saturday of every month, from 9am-12pm, at the Athens Area Humane Society. We also host our drive-thru Full Bellies Food Bowl free pet food pantry during this time. This clinic is available for residents in the following Georgia counties: Banks, Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Franklin, Greene, Jackson, Jasper, Madison, Morgan, Newton, Oconee, Oglethorpe, and Walton.
We’re dedicated to keeping our furry friends safe and healthy by providing free rabies, distemper vaccinations, microchips, and flea/tick medication for dogs and cats (while supplies last!). Our clinics are first come, first serve; no appointments or reservations can be made. We’ll be serving the first 200 animals between 9am-12pm. Please bring proof of residency and provide a valid email address which is necessary for our rabies tag information — your records will be emailed to you! Pets considered unsafe for handling may be declined. If your pet is dog/cat aggressive, please use a basket muzzle. Please ensure your pet arrives in the appropriate carrier or on a leash. For the safety of all animals, we’re unable to accommodate other pets besides dogs and cats.
Our focus is solely on the listed care items: Rabies Vaccines, DA2PP (for dogs), FVRCP (for cats), and microchips. Additional medical treatments and vouchers will not be provided at this clinic. We kindly ask that each household brings a maximum of three pets for vaccination. Pets must also be at least THREE MONTHS OLD to receive the vaccine safely. For your comfort and convenience, we recommend bringing water, a chair, and any essential items as you wait in line.
Thank you to our generous sponsors who have made these clinics possible.
