Our maximum limit (12) for a party ensures that each party guest gets time to interact with the animals in our care.

Our shelter has six cat and seven dog interaction rooms available to the public. Birthday parties are hosted on Saturdays during our shelter’s open hours, and future pet parents may be meeting pets for potential adoption in those shared spaces. A party size limit of 12 accommodates for any space or time limits, as well as for the behavioral capacity of the animals in our care.

You may exceed the party size limit of 12 if your party includes chaperones who do not want to interact with animals but want to stay with their children. We welcome them to do so! Along with any family members who simply want to come for the birthday boy/girl but not interact with AAHS’ adoptable pets.

30 minutes before booking: Chaperones may arrive early to decorate/set up our conference room for the party
1st 30 minutes: Party activity in the conference room
One hour: Animal interactions
Last 30 minutes: Cake/presents

Please note: all schedules are subject to change based on your desires/needs for the party. This timing reflects our suggested party outline. The AAHS party host will keep track of the time and adjust the schedule accordingly.

No, outside animals are not permitted inside our building. This is to ensure the health and safety of our guests and adoptable pets.
