Athens Banner-Herald— “The Athens Area Humane Society is hosting “Purr-dgerton” on Sunday, May 3, as an event replete with food, games, and music.
But the stars are the kittens – probably more than 50 little furry critters.
The event is actually the 10th annual Kitten Shower, which takes place from 2-4 p.m. at the facility at 1030 Mitchell Bridge Road. It is geared at promoting adoptions and educating the public about ways to support kittens during the spring months when so many kittens are born.
The “Purr-dgerton” theme comes from the Netflix television series “Bridgerton,” which brings “a touch of Regency-era charm to the festivities,” according to the Humane Society.
The family-friendly event comes with a complimentary brunch donated by local eateries, drinks, raffles, games, prizes, music, and a chance to adopt a kitten. Those who want to attend are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance.
Purchase tickets at www.athenshumanesociety.org.”
