Jackson Herald Today — The Athens Area Humane Society will host a free pet vaccine clinic on Saturday, July 20, from 9 a.m. to noon at 1030 Mitchell Bridge Road.
The clinic aims to promote pet health, increase the likelihood of lost pets returning home safely, and reduce the relinquishment of family pets to area shelters. The clinic operates on a first-come, first-served basis and is limited to the first 200 pets from households in Clarke, Jackson and Madison counties. Pets aged six weeks or older are eligible for vaccines. All pets will be microchipped and administered a rabies vaccination, dogs will receive a parvo/distemper vaccination, and cats will receive a feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia (FVRCP) vaccination. Frontline flea and tick protection for dogs and cats will be provided, as well as vouchers for free spay/neuter procedures at AAHS’s clinic.
